Title:Resetting with a refractory period
View PDFAbstract:We consider a stochastic process undergoing resetting after which a random refractory period is imposed. In this period the process remains quiescent. Using a renewal approach, we compute exactly the stationary position distribution, as well as the first-passage probability to a fixed target in one dimension. Several generalisations are considered such as when the interval between resets and the refractory periods are correlated. We also compute exactly the joint distribution of the active and absorption time to a target.
