Title:Order and Chaos: Collective Behavior of Crowded Drops in Microfluidic Systems
View PDFAbstract:Sindy Tang is assistant professor at in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. In this contribution she describes how her team uses droplet microfluidics to identify bacteria that could increase the efficiency of generation of bioplastics, and how this work motivated them to investigate the physics and design criteria necessary for further up-scaling of the droplet technology.
