Title:Quantum Brownian motion under space-dependent rapid periodic forcing
View PDFAbstract: We study the long time behaviour of a damped quantum Brownian particle which is subjected to a space-dependent rapidly oscillating force. It is known that starting from an initial coherent state representation of bath oscillators and using Wigner thermal distribution for harmonic oscillators, one can derive a c-number generalized quantum Langevin equation. This enables us to use the usual classical perturbative method in the high-frequency regime to find the long time behaviour of periodically driven stochastic quantum system. In the case of an Ohmic dissipative bath, we derive the lowest order quantum correction factor exactly. Finally, we study the effective equation of motion for two explicit examples of external perturbing field in the leading order. The quantum correction is found to be appreciable in the underdamped case and decreases rapidly as damping is increased.
