Title:Higher Order Modification of the Schroedinger Equation
View PDFAbstract: We modify the fundamental equation of quantum mechanics in a way that preserves its main properties, but admits the derivatives of orders higher than second. A particular case of the modification including the derivatives up to the fourth order is examined in detail. Observations on how to extend it even further and on the general structure of such extensions are also made. The comparison of this particular extension with the Doebner-Goldin modification which shares some common features with it is presented. Some differences between a relativistic extension of the Schrödinger equation and this variant of the modification are noted as well.
