Title:An efficient method to monitor a localization-delocalization transition
View PDFAbstract: We propose to use the disorder scaling of the relative fluctuation of the participation number for monitoring a localization-delocalization transition. We prove numerically that this magnitude is scale-invariant at criticality. This allows for calculation of the transition point. As a model we consider a one-dimensional tight-binding Hamiltonian with uncorrelated diagonal disorder and {\it non-random} long-range inter-site coupling $J_{mn} = J/|m-n|^{\mu}$, which is critical for $1 < \mu < 3/2$ at one of the band edges. We show also that in the marginal case ($\mu = 3/2$) all states are localized.
