Title:On approximation by inner functions
View PDFAbstract:This note finds an approximation of every matrix-valued contractive holomorphic function on the open unit disc by rational inner functions. This theorem is then applied to obtain a uniform approximation result for holomorphic functions which extend continuously to the unit circle. Also, as applications, approximation results are obtained for holomorphic functions on the unit disc with values in certain other domains of interest.
