Title:Riemann-Hilbert Approach and Double-Pole Solutions for the Third-Order Flow Equation of the Kaup-Newell System with Zero/Nonzero Boundary Conditions
View PDFAbstract:The Kaup-Newell (KN) system is a significant integrable system, which reveals many physical phenomena and natural laws. Especially, since the solutions of higher-order KN systems are more complex and various than that of second-order flow KN systems which contain the derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equation (DNLS), Chen-Lee-Liu equation, Gerdjikov-Ivanov equation and so on, the research on it will become more and more important. In this paper, we investigate the third-order flow equation of Kaup-Newell system (TOFKN) with zero boundary conditions (ZBCs) and non-zero boundary conditions (NZBCs) by using the Riemann-Hilbert (RH) approach based on the inverse scattering transformation. Starting from Lax pairs of the TOFKN equation, the direct scattering problem constructs the analyticity, symmetries, asymptotic behaviors and discrete spectral properties for the Jost solutions, modified Jost solutions and scattering matrix. The inverse scattering problems are solved by establishing the matrix RH problem, and the reconstruction formula of potential, trace formula and theta condition are also derived correspondingly. The reflectionless potentials with double poles are exhibited explicitly by means of determinants. Specifically, vivid plots and dynamics analysis which contain double-pole soliton solutions for the ZBCs and double-pole dark-bright soliton solution, breather-breather solutions and breather-breather-dark-bright interaction solutions for the NZBCs, are demonstrated in details. Furthermore, compared with the most classical second-order flow KN system which also be called the DNLS equation, the third-order dispersion and quintic nonlinear term of the KN system change the trajectory and velocity of solutions.
