Title:Quantum simulation for thermodynamics of infinite-size many-body systems by O(10) sites
View PDFAbstract:In this work, we propose to simulate many-body thermodynamics of infinite-size quantum lattice models by few-body models of only O(10) sites, which we coin as quantum entanglement simulators (QES's). The boundary interactions in the QES are optimized by the tensor network methods to mimic the entanglement between the bulk and environment. The performance of the QES is testified on the 1D XY chain comparing with the exact solution of the infinite-size chain, and on the 2D Heisenberg model on honeycomb lattice comparing with quantum Monte Carlo results by the extrapolation to infinite size. Our work sheds light on modeling few-body systems to simulate or purposefully reproduce the thermodynamics of quantum many-body systems.
