Title:Cosmology of non-minimal derivative coupling to gravity in Palatini formalism
View PDFAbstract:We consider, in Palatini formalism, a modified gravity model of which the scalar field derivative term couples to the Einstein tensor. In this scenario, Ricci scalar, Ricci tensor and Einstein tensor are functions of the connection field. Conformal factor is found as function of scalar field derivative. In FLRW universe, NMDC coupling constant is limited in a range of $ 0 \leq \kappa \leq 2/ \dot{\phi}^{2} $ so that the Lorentz signature of the conformal metric is preserved. The coupling constant is allowed to take large value in the slow-roll regime. We derive cosmological field equations and consider the equations in the slow-roll regime in which the acceleration condition is modified to $\; w_{\rm eff} \simeq - (1/3) \big( 1 + 6 \kappa \dot{\phi}^2 \big)$, resulting that the acceleration could occur even $w_{\rm eff}$ is less than $-1/3$. Effective gravitational constant and modification of the entropy of blackhole's apparent horizon are also reported.
