Title:Optimization-based State Estimation under Bounded Disturbances
View PDFAbstract:This paper presents sufficient conditions for a full information state estimator to be robustly globally asymptotically stable (RGAS) under bounded process and measurement disturbances. Given an incrementally input/output-to-state stable (i-IOSS) system, the conditions require that the estimator's cost function embodies a property resembling the system's i-IOSS stability property and has sufficient sensitivity to uncertainty in the initial state. The new result enriches the existing theory which is available only for convergent disturbances, and provides a positive answer to a conjecture given in a recent review paper.
