Title:Continuous boundary function of Riemann Map
View PDFAbstract:Let $G$ be a bounded simply connected domain in the complex plane. In this article the author investigates the open problem in the classical analysis of when the Riemann map $\varphi$ of $G$ can extend continuously to $\bar G$. The author solves this problem by showing that a 1-1 analytic function from $G$ onto the unit disk can extend to be a continuous function on $\bar G$ if and only if $\partial G=\partial_{\infty} G $, where $\partial_{\infty}G$ is defined to be the boundary of the unbounded component of the complement of $\partial G$. In the special case that $G$ is a Jordan domain, this is a famous theorem obtained and proved by C. Caratheödory 100 years ago.
