Title:5th Force and Quark Mixing
View PDFAbstract:It is argued that the experimentally observed quark decay of high generations to lower generations is due to the existence of a 5th force which explicitly violates the CP symmetry. The main supporting evidences are good matches of a 5th force-based theoretical computation with the experimentally determined CKM (Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa) matrix $[V_{ij}]$. For example, by taking the experimentally determined magnitude for $V_{ud}$, $V_{cs}$, $V_{tb}$, $V_{us}$, $V_{ts}$, $V_{td}$ and $V_{cb}$ with their respective uncertainties included, with the sign convention as adopted in the CKM fit result --- $V_{ud}$, $V_{cs}$, $V_{tb}$ all positive and $V_{us}$, $V_{ts}$ all negative, an {\em inexact} formula derived from this 5th force yields the following computational result: $$V_{ub}^{\tiny 5th force}=-0.0054 \pm 0.0016, \quad V_{cd}^{\tiny 5th force}= 0.226 \pm 0.034, $$ in good agreement with the experimental result: $|V_{ub}^{exp}|=0.00389\pm 0.00044$ and $|V_{cd}^{exp}| = 0.230\pm 0.011 $. Here the computations are done over a Gaussian sample of any size large than $10^6$.
In contrast, with the sign choice from the CKM fit result, using the same Gaussian sample, a {\em very accurate} formula derived from the CKM theory yields the following computational result: $$V_{ub}^{CKM}=0.033 \pm 0.017, \quad V_{cd}^{CKM} = -0.46 \pm 0.48, $$ in sharp disagreement with the CKM fit result: $V_{ub}^{fit}=-0.0035\pm 0.0002$ and $V_{cd}^{fit} = 0.2256\pm 0.0009$, an indication that the CKM theory is self-contradictory.
