Title:Spectral properties of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator for exterior Helmholtz problem and its applications to scattering theory
View PDFAbstract: We prove that there are no points of the spectrum of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator (DtN) in the lower half of the complex plane. We found several application of this fact in scattering by obstacle with impedance boundary conditions, in particularly, we found upper bound for the gradient of the scattering amplitude, we justified numerical approximations with uniform constants which do not depend on value of $k$ but only on the area of the surface.
