Title:A simplex of bound entangled multipartite qubit states
View PDFAbstract: We construct a simplex for multipartite qubit states, which has the same geometry concerning separability and mixedness as the bipartite qubit states. We argue that the definition of being distillable and/or bound entanglement for multipartite states needs a stronger specification as so far considered in literature. In particular, a certain class of states (generalized Smolin states) was considered to be bound entangled, because no singlets can be distilled. With the help of a multipartite measure we reveal that these states do not possess any bipartite entanglement only n-partite entanglement and therefore obviously no bipartite entanglement can be distilled. In detail, our results suggest how the notion distillation and bound entanglement has to be defined more carefully. We also study the violation of a Bell inequality and show in particular that an entangled state not violating the Bell inequality yields violation after the distillation protocol.
