Title:Interaction-free measurement: Some interference
View PDFAbstract: Two seminal works proposing the term "interaction-free measurement" (IFM), namely [Am. J. Phys. 49, 925 (1981)] by R.H. Dicke and [Found. Phys. 23, 987 (1993)] by A.C. Elitzur and L. Vaidman, are critically reviewed. We point out some conceptual misunderstandings in the original treatments and argue that the term is not consistent neither with the standard interpretation of quantum mechanics nor with the lessons provided by the EPR debate.
